Did you know that balanced, connected, and happy is God’s plan for you? Your greatest contribution to life happens when you are balanced, connected, and happy. BCH (balanced, connected, happy) is a simple guide to living your life. BCH will tell you in any moment in what direction to head your life. The goal is to maximize all three in each thing you do. Just seeking happiness is not enough. Being lost in a drug-induced euphoria can make you happy, but it is neither balanced nor connected. Just seeking connection can leave you wrapped up in all sorts of unbalanced co-dependent, people pleasing, or attention getting games. Just seeking balance can stifle your growth and leave you detached and separate from life. All three – balanced, connected, and happy are necessary to get good guidance in life.
Balance seeks moderation in all things. Balance provides you with variety to lead you to a well-rounded relationship with life. Balance keeps you from the extremes that mess up your health. Balance ensures that you fulfill all areas of your potential and life.
Being connected gives you depth and participation with life. It puts you in the now moment. Seeking connection provides you with the feedback from others in your life that lets you know if you are in harmony with life. Part of our spiritual purpose in life is learning how to participate and serve the good of the whole of life. When we are self-centered and purely self-serving people pull away from us. They do not want connection with someone who only serves themselves. We are in life together. We are designed to work together to create success in life.
Happiness has two sides to it – on the one hand we are self-creating, the authors of our own lives – and on the other hand we receive and appreciate life as it is. Either side by itself is empty and does not make us happy. We might get excited for short times with either alone, but it does not last. What is the point of creating if you can’t receive the rewards of your creative process, and what is the point of receiving if you can never get what you really want (only what others want to give out)? Happiness comes from the balanced flow of both creating and receiving.
Sometimes we get too deeply wrapped up in trying to figure out life and lose track of the big picture. BCH can give you a simple guide to the big picture. The details can still be important to us, but they need to be put within the perspective of the simple goal of balanced, connected, and happy. We create all kinds of false stories around why we can’t be balanced, connected, and happy. But these are just lies we tell ourselves because we want someone or something outside ourselves to take responsibility for our balance, connection, or happiness. It never works. Only we can balance ourselves. Only we can take the risks to reach out and connect. Only we can author our own lives and choose to receive life as it is. Likewise we can not do these things for anyone else – not partners, not our kids, not anyone.
Choose balance. Choose connection. Choose happiness. Choose all three at once. Your life works when you do.
